1930 Austin 7 Chummy Tourer
This stunning Austin Seven Chummy was first registered on the 15th January 1930. According to the brown 'buff' logbook the car spent the 1960's in the Suffolk area before moving to Cornwall in 1972. In 1977 the Seven was purchased by a garage proprietor who kept the car for over 20 years in the South West. The new owner in 1998 was an Oxfordshire based Professor who spent a considerable amount of money on improvements and fettling throughout the 1990's. The Austin attended the Churchill run from 2000-2004 and even graced the papers of the local press.
This matching numbers Chummy comes with an impressive file of history which includes MOT certificates dating back to 1984, an original 'buff' logbook, an original spares handbook, owner's manual and lots of invoices for work carried out over the years. During 2010 the Austin has undergone a programme of re-commissioning work that included a full strip down and rebuild of the engine. The engine work included re-grounding of the crank, new pistons, liners and valves. Very few miles have been covered since the rebuild and as a result, the engine runs and sounds absoloutely perfect. The Chummy is a delight to drive with a nice gearbox and good braking, handling and steering. The car also presents beautifully with a lovely standard of paintwork, smart, clean interior and perfect hood and sidescreens.
A delightful Chummy in top mechanical condition.
