Lancia Astura 2nd. Series Pinin Farina Cabriolet.

This particular Lancia Astura has the 2.6 litre V8 engine with 72HP @ 4000 rpm and a 125 km/h top speed.

Chassis number and engine-number are the original matching ones.

The 2-door close coupled 4-seat cabriolet bodywork by Pinin Farina is supposed to have been produced in small numbers only, in the range of just 50 to 70 cars.

Research revealed the first owner of this car to be Russian born Baron Alexandre Theodore de Gunzburg of the famous Gunzburg banker-family in St. Petersburg. This Baron de Gunzburg was living in Amsterdam –Holland.

Through the hands of another 2 successive Dutch owners the car ended up with the 4th. Dutch owner who restored the car during the seventies to original colour and specifications.

He was a well-known member of the Dutch Lancia scene and he used his car in Lancia Rallies in Holland, Germany and Italy.

In the summer of 1990 the present 5th. owner purchased this car and the car went into a quite large collection of this very motivated Lancia enthusiast. During his 20 years of ownership he only used his car for 2 weddings and a Lancia Rally in France and thus only covered 3.500 km’s with the car.
